About Me Sistas how y’all feel? Brothas y’all alright? My name is Bri. I’m just a Black woman trying to live a life that pleases God, fulfills myself, and creates a healthy community in whatever spaces I find myself in. I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. I enjoy self-reflection, coffee, natural light, books, and music. I started this blog because, quite frankly, I found myself feeling so isolated and always wondering whether I was the only one going through what I was going through or thinking what I was thinking. If that’s also you, I have good news: the answer is NO! Let me give you a quick tour of the house: The Living Room is where we spill all the tea (well, mostly mine, but you can share too!). Life is full of ups and downs, but I find that my greatest lessons came from my low seasons…let’s call them “Lessons from the Low”. Take a deep breath and kick your feet up ‘cuz this may take a while. The Birthing Room is where we discuss all things Black birth by advocating for the humans that create them and the people that support them. I’m no birthing expert, so dialogue is welcome (everywhere, but especially here)! Lastly, we have the Reading Room. I’m not a book critic by any stretch of the imagination. I read solely for pleasure and enjoy the worlds a good book can take me to, the emotions it can stir up within me, and the food-for-thoughts it leaves me with. Any book that can do that deserves to be shared and appreciated by all! Right? Right. While you’re here, my prayer is that you see God in my experiences, and in your own. I pray that you feel seen, heard, supported, and maybe even laugh a bit. We’re in this together! Your gracious host & friendly neighbor, Bri Photo Cred: https://www.jessperfectco.com/ SHARE >>
